Silvia Weidenbach is an award-winning jeweller, who fuses the traditional with the contemporary. She uses both historical techniques and new technologies, melding them to create striking pieces of art.
Silvia graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, and is a leading exponent of new techniques and innovation. She revels in these new possibilities of making which she referred to as 'digital craft', pioneering the use of 3D technologies such as haptic devices and artificial intelligence.
Silvia was the first Gilbert Collection Artist-in-Resident at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, where her work is part of its permanent collection. Her pieces are also included in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, as well as the Swiss National Museum in Zurich.
She is a Lecturer at The Glasgow School of Art and the London College of Fashion.
